My big fat Greek holiday began with leaving a rainy London behind and landing on a gorgeous island with an airport the size of my high school gym. You know it’s going to be an adventure when you see a cat stroll across the airport waiting area like it’s the damn catwalk. Cats aside, the scenery once we left the airport was captivating !
We arrived at our hotel Yakinthos Residence in the Panormos region of the island. Just take a look at the view from our guest room and the amazing pool downstairs.
We did’t waste time hitting the beach, dancing and partying the first night away and it was pretty much what we did everyday : wake up, go to the beach, have a massive lunch, sight see and party.
I could go into detail about a million things we did, the millions of cocktails we drank and the millions of boys we saw (yes Mykonos can fit a million hotties) but try out the following places and you are good to go :
1. Stay at Yakinthos Residence which is north of the island. Beautiful, relaxed and great service.
2. Have lunch and party at Nammos Restaurant by the sea . A bit of a posh, snobby crowd but when you work in the fashion industry like I do, just put your Victoria Beckham resting bitch face on and you’re good to go
3. Eat at Spilia seaside restaurant. It’s built inside a cave with an awesome sea view !
4. Have a chilled morning at Panormos Beach which is down the hill from Yakinthos Residence
And make sure to check out the city centre and get lost in the narrow streets, where you will bump into slow-moving Greek grandmas and friendly cats. Grab a bite to eat in the Little Venice area but watch out for the water splashing the side of the walk way !
